What a City!

The city that never sleeps is a fitting name for NYC. Time Square was constantly buzzing. Even when we went through it after midnight it honestly was just like the middle of the day. People were everywhere walking, shopping, eating in the restaurants; and with all the bright lights you might get tricked into thinking it's daytime.
The giant button was in the garment district. NY still has all of it's businesses grouped into areas. The garment district is where you will find store after store of only fabric. There are also entire stores devoted only to ribbon, or to buttons. The idea is that you pick out your materials and take them to a seamstress or tailor and have your clothes custom made. Fashion is alive and well in NYC. Here is a picture of a common parking structure, there's no place to go but up in that city.. people who can afford parking in the city, (it starts at 600 dollars a month) can pay to have their car hoisted up for the day.
McDonald's' were also a big deal in NYC, there were all types, two story McDonald's, ones with piano players in them.. a little slice of America I guess.
Bryant Park was a really impressive area. It's uptown and things really seem to be nicer up there. It was neat to see they still had places for families to enjoy. In Bryant park there were several little bookshelves on wheels for people to come and read to their kids and enjoy the park.
