It was extremely cold and wet the day we went to the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island. Here's a picture of Ellis Island where many of our ancestors came through from across the pond!
Statue dedicated to the immigrants and the hardships they endured to come to our great country. This may be the look of, "might you offer me your umbrella now, please?" That and a little bit of "come on! You've got to be kidding it's this windy!"
This one was headed to the trash can shortly after...
Despite the tempestuous weather, we really felt a sense of how amazingly special our country is. So many sacrifices have been made along the way so that we can all enjoy the blessings of living in this great country. It's also amazing to me that France gave the Statue of Liberty to us as a symbol of friendship. As far as I'm concerned if they never did another thing, just that one gift would be enough. It's spectacular.
