The Things You Stumble Upon in NYC

We were walking down the street toward the NY Public Library when I caught a glimpse of this amazingly beautiful room through an open doorway. Naturally, I decided to walk on in. Sam ducked out to use the restroom so I went in and started up a conversation with the people carving some ice sculptures. It went something like this,
me: Who's the party for? them: Who? me: Yeah, who?
them: Uh, it's for Ne-Yo. (he is a current rap artist)
me: oh, cool, it looks awesome in here....
Then I proceeded to take pictures, when Sam finally found me, and I told him where we were,
he was pretty antsy to get out of there. As you can see by that,
"oh my gosh, you're pushing it Kim " look on his face...

The feathery looking lit up structure was actually Ne-Yo's location for his "entrance".... So of course I told Sam to stand in it; then we got one of the designers to take our picture in front of it.

By the time I asked Sam to take a picture of me on the leather couch, he was ready to bolt. It was a fun experience... and I learned (or had reinforced :) that it never hurts to ask!
Happy Birthday to Ne-Yo!
Nice digs.
Some people that we stumbled upon while on our visit were: Donald Trump, Willis from the 80's show Different Strokes (he was staying in our hotel ), Edward Furlong - the kid in the Terminator Movie, the actor who played Chewbacca, (definitely one I would've missed ) Bill Pullman another 80's actor and David Schwimmer from Friends. It was one adventure filled weekend. Everyone's been asking me if I was shopping till I dropped. Sadly (or not so sadly) we were way too busy seeing all the sights! We barely had time to grab our kids a souvenir!
Some things we didn't stumble upon in NYC but were certainly glad to get back to:

Notice the dazed look in Grandpa Tony and Grandma Mary's eyes.... I think they'd paid their dues in service for the year! Thank you Mary and Tony for making it possible for us to go knowing the kids were in good hands!
