That's right, Reese is 8! and being eight means getting to be baptized, which Reese is VERY excited about. It also means joining Cub Scouts which he's equally excited for.
As I've been scrambling to get ready for Reese's birthday, (not without constant reminders from him about what he wanted at his party, what he wanted for presents, how he wanted me to do the streamers, etc, etc...!!) I've reflected on my sweet little boy and how he and his December birthday seem to catch me by surprise every year. In fact I thought of how his birthday sneaks up on me in the midst of my December busyness just the same way it did when he was born.
Eight years ago last night, I had just finished scrambling to take all my finals before I would be having a baby. I came home to a messy house and got to work, I was really getting into the swing of things when around midnight I started cramping. "Oh no," I thought, "is it really time, now?" We headed to the hospital around 5 am after a sleepless night in the middle of a major Logan snow storm and our sweet Reese arrived that morning at 10:23 am. What a blessing he's been to Sam and I ever since.
Reese, it's so fun to see you grow. You have so many admirable qualities. You're a hard worker, you're so smart, you're obedient most of the time, you love your family and friends, you try so hard at everything you do, you're endlessly curious and asking questions, you try really hard to help whenever I need it, and you're a joy for our whole family.
Reese also loves all things Star Wars, so this theme music is dedicated to him!
Here are some scenes from Reese's party. Fun was had by mostly all; lets just say next time I have that many little boys in my house... well, I think I'll do the party at an outside venue. They were a lot of fun to watch, they're just loaded with energy! Which is to be expected. In all, the day was a success and Reese was really excited and happy, which is exactly why we do these things!
Happy 8th Birthday Reese! We LOVE you!!!
