The Magical Land of the Pacific Northwest!

Before I get into this post, I have to explain why there's been such a dry spell in postings for the blog. Our usual family activities aside, our computer was down for the count; and I mean DOWN. We had two different people work on it and although it's finally up and running it's doing so begrudgingly and with the suggestion from professionals to get a new one asap.
So with that item of business out of the way; One of my best childhood friends, Heather, got married this year over Thanksgiving weekend in Maui. Sam can't travel for leisure in the 4th quarter at all and we also hosted his family for Thanksgiving. Realizing that if I went, I'd only be able to stay in Maui for the weekend and without my honey- the choice became sadly clear. I couldn't go. So, as a consolation to both of us, I swore I'd come to Seattle to spend some time with her, and boy did I ever!

This was a little treasure down an alley way that Heather wanted to show me. It's the gum wall. Yup, gumtastically disgusting! It probably was about 15 ft tall and 30 ft long. So Gross!

So. Much. Good. Food. I know it's hard to think about after that last set of pictures... But we ate out every meal while I was there and we experienced some of Seattle's best eateries. It was so great to get time with Heather, still as much fun as ever to be with.
Here we are at the famed Pike Street Market
Several of my highschool friends have settled in the Seattle area, so for fun Heather set up a dinner with all the girls. Here they all are plus one - One of the girls brought her school-teaching colleague along for the drive she made from Portland. Another of my really close friends Janna, seen to my left- lives in Seattle with her little cutie boy Cole and her Husband who works as a tugboat captain. It was a great night, one where dinner takes three hours and there's plenty of stories and laughter to be had!
Oh Heather my fun - forever - the - same friend. Here we are with a character from Pike Street. Those are lobster claws around his neck! It was a great weekend :)
As I type, The computer is painfully slow. So I guess I'll sign off for now. Hopefully soon I'll be able to get back to my normal blogging habits and with a new computer to boot!
