Who knew the State Fairgrounds had such an amazing location for art venues? I was so impressed with the cool chandeliers in the industrial setting. There was a really great photography exhibition up there, and had we not chosen to wander up the stairs in one of the old fashioned brick buildings, we would've missed it!

The kids having fun sitting next to some stinky manure....They really did have fun seeing all the animals, normally every year we go and pay to see the "biggest pig in the world!" but we don't want to waste our money and no pictures are allowed, so we take turns... this year was Reese's turn. We got there only to be informed that the pig is on assignment in California, but the worker did share that he's 11ft long, and 4ft tall! Crazy! (You can click on any of the collages to get a better look at the pictures up close)
Fun on the rides! (soooooo dirty...)the kids' socks were black inside their shoes by the time they were done; lots of dust on this hot sunny day!
We of course saw some sights that you seem to only see at the fair...The porcelain dolls were among the creepier of those things. Those and the mullets.
The kids begged to play this ducky game, at least every one won something. They were actually pretty excited about these less-than-dollar store swords! Lots of kung-foo in our house lately, the kids seem to be on a kick. Maybe it's because Sam introduced them to his very own saying, "I'm going to Karate-Kill you!"
Pretty cute, Elle. She means business.

Probably you nearly fainted to see a comment from Scott. So sorry- it was me forgetting to log him off. But he shares my enthusiasm and wants to go on your next family vacation. Make it a good one....
I've actually never been to the fair. Crazy, huh? Looks like a good time, though: manure, blackened socks, mullets, creepy dolls. yeah.
