September fun

I posted pictures of Audrey and Reese on their first day of school but didn't get Elle's up on the same post so here she is, first day of Kindergarten!
She loves her teacher and I love her too. I love that she's kind and teaches the kids to be sweet.
Lookin good little lady!

Elle also has recently lost two teeth, only she's had four where she should have two - finally those little babies got pushed out ( along with some anxiety about the whole experience from Elle ) and we had to stop using the nickname we'd been affectionately using.. shark-tooth. In our family, the tooth fairy takes the tooth from a glass of water and turns the water a pretty color, she also leaves money and sugarless gum.

I realize that this post is heavy on the Elle, but our next noteworthy experience was attending my friend Hailey's Princess party. She really went all out - she did all the art work you see based on the movie Tangled. My friend Julia did the makeup for everyone who came - and Hailey has been collecting "princess" dresses as a hobby since middle school - so she had guests come and change into their dresses. It was a fun night topped off with the lighting of two paper lanterns. Elle was in Heaven! -and Audrey was notably absent because of choosing the local high school football game over princesses. At least she went with her Dad, the growing up years have come to our house so quickly.....

Also, this September, we were finally able to get rid of our (beloved) couches. They've been wonderful, they've been great - but due to Reese stabbing them when he was a toddler, the fabric was completely spent. We had been keeping them tightly covered with blankets but finally decided to part with our dear old friends... As you can see this stirred up more feeling in some of our childrenthan others... Reese, the original perp. looks oddly unaffected.

Should've arranged the pillows before taking the picture but you get the idea, I don't think we've looked back :)
Last but not least, and not really all that comprehensive of our Sept.. but Reese grew this cabbage in our garden. He planted it in May and was pretty proud of it. It looked as big and as perfect as any cabbage from the store, and tasted delicious!
