Ah the fair city of Coeurd'Alene. Our hometown. Here's a picture I snapped out the car window of downtown. You can see how close it is to the Lake. So pretty. Although it wasn't under happy circumstances that we came, we did as always enjoy our time there. Sam's grandpa recently passed away and we were visiting to attend his memorial services as well as spend spring break.
Here's the kids watching grandpa Ladd do his chores out in the yard. They were pretty fascinated and happy to get to ride in the back of the truck. Oh the magic of North Idaho living.

After Grandpa Kienow's memorial, the entire Kienow clan headed down to Hudson's Hamburgers. They only serve burgers and pie. No fries, no nothing - and don't ask for a tomato on your burger because you're not going to get it. Everybody loves a good Huddy's burger! They've been around since 1907.

Grandpa decided they all could use a chance at using the chainsaw. Even Elle. That was a great adventure for them! Thanks Grandpa!

While the kids were out shopping with Grandma Nyleen, this great big bear somehow ended up hitching a ride home with them. We decided to let him borrow some of Grandpa's clothes and tell Grandpa that we'd found a replacement for him when he's gone to his church meetings. The kids loved him so much and though we're still undecided on his official name, he was readily welcomed into the family with the kids taking their turn sleeping with him.
Thanks for the great week Grandma and Grandpa!
