I decided to make an impromptu drive home. Brave the 11-12 hours trapped in the car with just the kids and I. Miles and miles of countryside with no tv or movies, just books, music, crayons and paper. I typically head home in August, and although I still plan to, we decided to make an early jaunt to be home when my brother Eric and his family were visiting. Even though we didn't stay our usual marathon length of time, it was, and always is, well worth the drive.

Here's some fun out at Mom and Dad's. Cute little bambi baby deer that was running through the daisies. The kids were given various jobs around the property to earn their keep. This time it was picking up pine cones. The kids also always have fun on the famous zipline and this year they've taken to playing in the old grain silo and calling it the leprechaun house. Fun stuff.
Here's Audrey making a clean entrance to the water out at the family beach
Elle opted for the diving board
Tarah, my sis-in-law and I took the kids out for a hike and to a little beach, took them to the Resort to get a famous "Gooey", as you can see Elle's is about as big as her head. Dallin was having lots of fun pretending to be a dog and fetching his stick for Reese. Whatever they want, it's all great during the lazy days of summer vacation.
