Wow, What a Month!

It started with a trip to Park city with my friend Jessica for lunch. We meant to do this for my Birthday but finally got there in October.

Then, we headed up the canyon with the kids for a nice fall stroll, the colors were amazing!

We saw a mother deer and her twin babies, so cute!

Our little cousin Ben got sick this month and had to stay in Primary Children's Hospital. We were lucky enough to have his sisters at our house while Mom and Dad stayed with Ben. This was before bedtime, the kids decided they were going to be "Nerdy."

Elle turns 3!! She told me she wanted a "froggy" birthday, so we did the best we could. This was at her friend party, the weather was beautiful so we partied in the park.

Daddy and Elle at our family party.

With Elle's Birthday out of the way, the kids were ready to focus on Halloween. This was a trial run on the costumes, Reese has since settled on being Indiana Jones, and Elle was a witch for our past few events. We'll see what she finally decides to do on the actual day.

Going to the pumpkin patch down the street from our house, the kids got to pick a pumpkin to bring home. Elle is turning out to be quite the poser; as plainly seen in exhibit A.

Next came the school Halloween Carnival. With Sam (conveniently..) out of town, I had to brave the crowds alone. It turned out though and it was fun to see Audrey sing with the rest of the 4th grade.

Audrey and her friend Jashaya, along with the rest of the 4th grade class singing some Halloween songs. Later that night I had to dash over to a friend's baby shower, it was a crazy day!

Finally, our Anniversary! We were with the kids at the pumpkin walk earlier in the day then off to our dance class. We are learning the Tango!

This was on the 24th at the pumpkin walk. The kids had a blast running all over and getting very dirty.

After our busy day, we left town to really celebrate. Thanks to my sister for taking the kids and Sam's hard work, we got to go to Moab and stay at the Sorrel Ranch and Spa. It was absolutely fabulous! We loved hiking through Arches National Park. It was the most beautiful time of year to visit, the colors were incredible.

This was Sam's favorite Arch, it's called Landscape Arch. The camera couldn't even capture it all, pretty crazy. Some arches have fallen, and they predict this one might be next....I can see why.

After our restful weekend, it was right back into the mix, back home and carving pumpkins with the kids.

Ta TaDa! They only took us three hours; Audrey always likes to carve her own without help and prefers the "traditional style"...

The next day was party mode. My friend Kate and I worked together to have something fun for the kids in our neighborhood to do. We ended up with 14 kids at our house celebrating Halloween. It was a mad house but we made it!

It was pretty much impossible to get a decent picture of this sizable brood, the sun was in their eyes and they all wiggle a lot! I decided a quick picture was better than no picture. Hopefully they all had fun!

After everyone was gone I went to check on Elle, this is how I found her. She's summed up exactly how I feel by the end of this month, now we can settle in, set back the clocks, and take it easy....until Christmas!!

No kidding, Kim! You can pack more into a month than I can in a year. Your kids just explode with personality. I love the one of Elle on the couch--what a sweetheart--that pose in the pumpkin patch doesn't fool me! Thanks for being a role model of good, clean family fun (except for the weekend in Moab of course;)!
